Daniel K. Nanghaka is current the Executive Director of ILICIT Africa (integrating Livelihoods thru Communication Information Technology for Africa). Daniel who is a member of the OSGeo foundation is also a Web 2.0 and Google Earth trainer. Daniel is passionate about Mapping, FOSS, Building Community Wireless Networks, Agriculture and Software Development, particularly supporting youth development and social justice programs.
Prior to his confirmation as Chair of the FOSSFA Council, Daniel was instrumental in hosting IDLELO7 in Kampala, in 2016 and has served on the council of Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa (FOSSFA) since 2014. Daniel is the Co-Chair of the Outreach and Engagement Sub Committee within ICANN At Large, and a member of the Root Directory Service Working Group in ICANN.
Daniel, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Certificate in Software Engineering, Certificate in Scalable Network Infrastructure (AfNOG – Zambia), trained in Business Modelling and Investment (Ashesi University – Ghana), Information for Collaborative Development at the United Nations Institute of Training and Research. He consults for various companies in East, Central and Southern Africa in technology adoption and System Automation and Integration. In 2015, Daniel was nominated as American Express Emerging Leader
